도화김소영 2021년 개인전: 산티아고 순례길

Artist's Note

The landscape that changes with every step, and the emotions captured within it. The path may remain the same every time, but the ever-changing scenery and the colors of the sky that shift with the seasons always fill my heart with excitement. I wanted to forever remember the colors of the sky and the path, as well as the image of myself walking along it. And with that memory, I wanted to share the excitement and energy of that moment with all of you.

Inspired by the watercolor piece capturing the beautiful sky of Santiago, Spain, I created the "Cosmic Star Mirror." The mirror, made alongside the painting, reflects the beauty of the sky depicted in the artwork.

Through my work with mirrors, I have had the experience of reflecting on myself and building confidence. It's as if, through the reflection of my own image in the mirror, I discovered my true self and began moving toward becoming a better version of myself. Based on this experience, I created the "Universe Star Mirror."

Through the "Universe Star Mirror." I hope that you too can look at yourself and discover your true reflection.

The world is constantly changing, and within that change, we experience new things and grow. The "Cosmic Star Mirror" is a piece that captures the beauty of a changing world. It’s like looking at your reflection in the mirror and seeing yourself growing along with the evolving world around you.

To truly love means to forget about time, circumstances, and money. Somehow, you make it happen. I may never have the luxury, but no matter what, I will continue to visit my beloved hometown, Santiago de Compostela, until the day I die.

Why do I keep going, you ask?

There is no other reason.

Because I love it.

매 걸음마다 변화하는 풍경, 그리고 그 속에 담긴 감동. 매번 지나가는 그 길은 항상 같지만, 계절에 따라 변화하는 풍경과 하늘의 색감은 언제나 내 마음을 설레게 합니다. 그때의 하늘과 길의 색감, 그리고 그 길을 걷는 나의 모습을 영원히 기억하고 싶었습니다. 그리고 그 기억과 함께, 그때의 설렘과 기운을 여러분과 함께 나누고 싶었습니다.

스페인 산티아고의 아름다운 하늘을 담은 수채화 작품에서 영감을 받아 "우주별 거울"을 제작했습니다. 그림 옆에 함께 제작된 이 거울에는 그림 속 하늘의 아름다움을 담아냈습니다.

저는 거울 작업을 통해 우리 자신을 되돌아보고, 자신감을 키우는 경험을 했습니다. 마치 거울 속에 비친 나의 모습을 통해 진정한 내 자신을 발견하고, 더 나은 자신을 향해 나아가는 것처럼 말입니다. 그리고 그 경험을 바탕으로 "우주별 거울"을 제작했습니다. "우주별 거울"을 통해 여러분도 자신을 바라보고, 진정한 여러분의 모습을 발견하길 바랍니다.

세상은 끊임없이 변화하고 있습니다. 그리고 그 변화 속에서 우리는 새로운 경험을 하고, 성장합니다. "우주별 거울"은 변화하는 세상의 아름다움을 담아낸 작품입니다. 마치 거울 속에 비친 자신의 모습을 통해 변화하는 세상과 함께 성장하는 자신을 바라보는 것처럼 말입니다.

정말 사랑한다는 건 시간과 환경, 돈을 생각하지 않게 만듭니다. 어떻게든 그렇게 되게 만들죠. 언제나 여유는 없지만 저는 어떻게든, 사랑하는 저의 고향인 산티아고 데 콤포스텔라에 죽을때까지 찾아갈겁니다.
